Welcome to the Workplace Bullying workshop. Training on preventing bullying in the workplace is crucial in creating a workplace that is inclusive and safe for all to work.
This workshop will introduce you to your company’s responsibility with regard to preventing bullying, as well as the effects of bullying. It talks about what to do if one is being bullied or witnesses another person being bullied. It will also describe the steps that should be taken when it is determined that employees are not in compliance with the business’ policy.Please login.

- What is Workplace Bullying?Workplace bullying is repeated, harmful behavior directed at an individual, causing distress and undermining their work. It can manifest as verbal abuse, intimidation, sabotage, or exclusion, negatively impacting mental health and productivity.1
- Why Does One Bully?People may bully in the workplace due to various reasons, including insecurity, a desire for power, poor management practices, stress, or learned behaviors. Often, they seek to assert dominance or control over others.1
- Effects on EmployeesThe effects of workplace bullying on employees include increased stress, anxiety, and depression; decreased job satisfaction; reduced productivity; higher absenteeism; and a negative impact on overall mental and physical health, leading to higher turnover rates.1
- Effects on CompanyThe effects of workplace bullying on a company include decreased employee morale, lower productivity, increased absenteeism and turnover, damaged workplace culture, potential legal issues, and a negative impact on overall organizational performance and reputation.1

- Someone Else Being BulliedWitnessing someone else being bullied in the workplace requires taking action to support the victim. This can include offering support, documenting incidents, encouraging the victim to report the bullying, and informing management or HR to address the issue.1
- Company Address the BullyWhen a company addresses the bully, it involves investigating reported incidents, conducting interviews, and determining appropriate actions based on findings. Consequences may include disciplinary measures, retraining, or, in severe cases, termination to uphold a safe workplace.1
